New Recordings & A Bunch of Beauty

We’re super excited to announce the arrival of ten new audio recordings for our GuitarCurriculum Library!

If you’re not a GuitarCurriculum teacher that may not mean much, but if you are, then you’ll know that it means ten more of the selections in our 160-piece library have clickable reference audio recordings so you can listen before you decide to teach them. You can also download and share the recordings with your students whenever you want!

Equally fun news is how these recordings came to be!

At GuitarCurriculum we have a summer internship program. This year we welcomed Lennox, who is a long-time member of Austin Classical Guitar Youth Orchestra. Then we recruited three of his colleagues—Iris, James, and Aidan—to learn ten pieces. Then Chez Boom Audio, a recording studio in town, donated space, equipment and expertise so the magic could happen! The recordings turned out beautifully and now we get to share them with you!

The new recordings are: Blue Magic, Dark Eyes, El Chinati, Intersection, Koi Under Moon the Bridge, Malaguena, Meditation, Neptune Run, Papillon, and Valse No. 1 from Valses Poeticos.

BONUS feel-good news:

In his time with us Lennox made four beautiful Lullaby Project videos. Lullaby Project is an Austin Classical Guitar service for moms facing stressful challenges, usually in shelter, medical, or correctional facilities.

Would you like to hear one of the lullabies? This song was written with Ronny at an area shelter by ACG Teaching Artist Arnold Yzaguirre. The singer is Grace, one of Arnold’s high school students. Enjoy!
